Meet Michael Bailey's family
This year we are raising funds in memory of Michael Bailey to assist his widow, Lori Bailey & their 11 year old daughter, Zoey.
Mike unfortunately passed away on April 10, 2026 at 47 years old.
Mike’s illness started in 2011 when he became sick and found out he had HUS Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome. His body attacked its own blood cells and caused it to put out blood clots that killed the function of both kidneys. He did dialysis for a while before getting a kidney transplant. It was successful and they had a new drug they were using to help with the kidney he had received and was on anti-rejection meds. Mike started having issues with his back in June 2025. They thought at first it was a pulled muscle.
In July he was still having issues and in excruciating pain. He went to the ER and they did a Cat scan and found 2 spine fractures, ruptured disc, and a lesion on his old kidney. They sent him home to see a neurosurgeon for his spine. He made visits back to the ER before they finally did another Cat scan and saw the tumor on his kidney was bigger than before. They sent him to Indy where they did an MRI and found the tumors on his spine caused his fractures. They had to put cement like material in his back to stabilize the spine. He had tumors all over his spine, right side pelvis, his ribs and on his skull. He had a biopsy for the tumors on his back and he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Renal Cell Carcinoma Cancer.
In Oct 2025, Mike had surgery on his back to keep him from being paralyzed due to the tumors on his spine. He had numerous doctor appointments as the medical bills and expenses increased. Mike’s widow, Lori is unable to work due to health issues. Mike had been a hard working man until this illness and loved his family. That was so important to him.
Please attend in memory of Mike and help us raise funds for his family on Sat, Aug 15th at 6:15pm.
We’ll have food, a live band called “Marc Ridge & The Revelers”, and items in the barn donated for auction where you can place your bid.
Community is everything and we can’t do this without your support.
